Elise Guillermet, PhD

Leader – People-Centred Health Services

Co-founder and Associate

Elise is a senior specialist in people-centred approach, with a strong background in operational and field research. She has led activities related to people-centered health services at EpiLinks. As a socio-anthropologist, she brings her expertise to most projects to ensure that interventions are thought out, designed and implemented taking into account the needs and specificities of the field.

Elise has been conducting numerous projects with a community-based approach to assess barriers for health care access and health equity. She has led studies on HPV vaccine acceptance in Mozambique and Mauritania, leading to national communication strategies. She has conducted operational field studies to support the tailored development of new vaccine delivery technologies to end-users’ needs in low and middle-income settings, some of them leading to WHO recommendations for pre-qualification. She also contributed to the evaluation of strategies for vaccine delivery (i.e. cholera vaccine campaigns), and for supply chain system redesign in Benin, by assessing perspectives of both recipients and healthcare professionals. Elise has been involved in the development of tools and updated standards for health data quality and for implementation strategy (Covid-19 communication in Cameroon, and cholera operational guidelines for ACF; EYE strategy, and missed immunization opportunities assessments for WHO).

Elise holds a PHD in Anthropology from Lyon II University. She is an associated researcher of the Liege University (Belgium) and a reviewer for the Vaccine Journal.

She is a associate and co-founder of EpiLinks.
